Granta magazine previously introduced a generation of talent that included Samanta Schweblin\, Andrés Barba and Andrés Neuman. Who will join them? \nValerie Miles edited this Granta edition\, and co-founded Granta en español in 2003. She teaches translation and creative writing at the Pompeu Fabra University\, and is the author of A Thousand Forests in One Acorn. She lives in Barcelona\, Spain. \nMegan McDowell has translated many of the most important Spanish-language writers working today. She has won the English PEN award and the Premio Valle-Inclán\, and been nominated three times for the International Booker Prize. She lives in Santiago\, Chile. \nCarlos Fonseca was born in Costa Rica in 1987\, and grew up in Puerto Rico. He appeared on the Bogotá39 list of the best Latin American writers under 40. He is the author of Colonel Lágrimas and Natural History and is a lecturer at Trinity College\, Cambridge. \nCristina Fuentes La Roche has worked at Hay Festival since 2005\, creating Hay Cartagena\, Colombia; Hay Segovia\, Spain; Hay Mexico; and Hay Arequipa\, Perú. She was awarded an OBE for promoting British culture to the Spanish-speaking world. \nGaby Wood is the Director of the Booker Prize Foundation. She is a writer\, editor and critic\, and her book Edison’s Eve (Anchor Books) was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award in the US. DESCRIPTION:Dainerys Machado y José Ardila\, de Cuba y Colombia respectivamente\, son herederos de la monumental tradición literaria de sus países\, y así lo ratifica su inclusión en la nueva edición de la revista Granta dedicada a Los mejores narradores jóvenes en español 2. Ambos nos visitan acompañados por Valerie Miles\, editora de la revista\, para conversar en torno a su obra y las tendencias de la literatura contemporánea. \n\nTras una conversación en la que se tratarán las claves fundamentales de las poéticas de estos dos narradores\, el humor de Machado y la ternura y melancolía de Ardila\, así como las peculiaridades sonoras de sus estilos\, tendremos la ocasión de escucharlos leer su propia obra. También exploraremos el vínculo con la tradición y su ruptura\, las tendencias de la literatura contemporánea que se escribe en Cuba y en Colombia. \nUn diálogo en el que tampoco faltarán cuestiones referidas a la traducción\, sobre todo desde la experiencia particular de estos dos narradores y todas las variantes de reescritura que supone representar un texto literario en otro idioma. \nDainerys Machado Vento\n(La Habana. 1986) \nEscritora\, periodista e investigadora literaria. Sus relatos y ensayos en castellano y en inglés han sido publicados en varias revistas y antologías. Actualmente está terminando un Doctorado en la Universidad de Miami\, donde trabaja en el Centro para las Humanidades. Es licenciada en Periodismo por la Universidad de La Habana y autora de Las noventa Habanas (Katakana\, 2019). \nJosé Ardila\n(Chigorodó. 1985) \nEscritor\, editor y guionista. Nació en el Caribe colombiano y vive en Medellín desde hace 20 años. Es autor de Divagaciones en el interior de una ballena (2012) y Libro del tedio (Angosta\, 2017). También codirige Querida\, una premiada productora de cine para la que ha escrito los cortometrajes La herencia y Tomaidy\, amor y la película La cábala del pez. \nValerie Miles\n(Nueva York. 1963) \nEscritora\, editora y traductora. Ha dirigido proyectos editoriales como Emecé y Alfaguara. Es Fellow de la National Endowment for the Arts por su traducción de Crematorio\, de Rafael Chirbes. Colabora con The New Yorker\, The New York Times\, The Paris Review y New York Review of Books. Es cofundadora de Granta en español.
